Development Concept

The Department has generate the concept for teaching young professionals based on the following principles:

 

  • preparation professionals with analytical thinking, scientific approach in solving technological and organizational problems;

  • development of written, oral and technically oriented communication skills for transmission and receipt of information, while preserving logical sequence of presentation;

  • widespread use of the analysis, calculation, modeling and development of ways of solving technological problems of publishing and printing;

  • preparation citizens with an understanding of governmental processes, their rights and responsibilities in society.

 

Common cultural and professional qualities characterize the professional culture, which includes culture of work, style, ability to interact with other services and prepare systems to achieve production targets, raising the professional level of both personal and personnel. These qualities are directly related to the level of cultural, environmental and safety production, technological discipline, work organization. Some disciplines are directed to form a particular professionals, as well as the specification of its objectives for the humanization of education and training humanization.

 

Documentation's renewal is always aimed at deepening theoretical and practical training with a focus on global developments in the field of publishing and printing and based on suggestions made by leading professors and considered and discussed at a meeting of the department, methodical Council and could be adopted at the Academic Council of the Institute.

 

In the near future reorganization of publishing and printing business in Ukraine can occur. The requirements to the process engineer can increase significantly. Practice engineer in the field of publishing and printing will be different depending on the nature of the duties performed.

 

First of all process engineer is aimed to develop new processes. It requires research engineer (master) or academic (PhD). Research work is engineering component without which there is no way to move forward.

 

Design in publishing and printing is yet another issue and it needs independent artistic and technical solution. The publication should be perfect by design and manufacturing technology. It requires engineer, who is fluent in computer applications and has artistic taste and talent - technical editor (bachelor and specialist).

 

Thus training of the future process engineers in each specialization is carried out in three or four profiles. They complete each other but quite clearly specialized. Division of labor in the information society continues and must be improved.

 

In such circumstances there should not be frozen standards in training. Each graduate and each person should receive individual training. Therefore, at the time of Bachelor necessary to identify each student's inclinations in the study of professionally oriented and special disciplines and accordingly continue individual training.

 

To this end the Department makes sure the students are involved in the community, research, translation and publishing activities. During the holidays students are encouraged to work in the publishing industry and enterprises thus expanding the practical training.

 

Course papers and diploma projects are usually design for implementation in publishing and printing business, often made on request by businesses and companies. In educational work emphasizes is always made on a point that specialists with higher education today have to master their field, computer (to the extent necessary professional programs), one foreign language. That's why our students today have no problems with post-institute employment.

 

The Department of Publishing and Printing Technologies for the period 2009-2011 has prepared 315 bachelors, 158 engineers, 53 masters (including 26 bachelors, 12 specialists, 26 masters with honors), 9 PhDs within the specialty 05.05.01 "Machines and printing production processes,"provides further training and improvement in qualifications for specialists of printing industry. The Department develops scientific and educational literature, introducing computer technology course and diploma projects, ensures the implementation of diploma projects.
